Chrome extension blocks out the names of mass shooters
Many mass shooters have been motivated by their want for fame and glory, so the Brady Marketing campaign believes it is time we shift our focus in the direction of the victims. The non-revenue org has launched a Chrome extension referred to as “Zero Minutes of Fame,” as a result of when put in, the killers do not get their quarter-hour. It blocks out the gunners’ names — as long as it is their full names — in articles you learn and even replaces their pictures with footage of the victims.
The extension’s description reads:
“30% of mass killings, and 22% of faculty shootings, are impressed by earlier gun associated occasions.
These occasions are all the time coated by the media, who plasters the killer’s identify, picture and motives throughout their broadcast channels.
So, if the media continues to provide these killers their quarter-hour of fame, then it is time to take issues into our personal arms.”
As The Day by day Dot notes, the plug-in is essentially symbolic: it won’t hold the gunners’ identities and actions secret from wannabes and copycats, because you’d need to consciously choose in. When you agree with the Brady Marketing campaign and need to present your help, although, you’ll be able to obtain Zero Minutes of Fame from the Chrome Net Retailer.
